Circulism



This is a drawing I did of my late dad using a technique called Circulism. Circulism is a technique that many artists use in attaining a realistic skin texture in drawing. Circulism is basically drawing very tiny overlapping and intertwining circles. The circles do not have to be perfect to achieve this effect.
It is a very time consuming exercise but with truly amazing effects. Especially when trying to portray skin in an portrait. Which is not always flawless…


Ostrich

This drawing is of an Ostrich captured at the Lion Park, West of Johannesburg. I love the intensity of the stare of this Ostrich and how it was captured on film. It’s almost unnerving in that we all know the nature of these birds and you never know what to expect. It’s either a “PECK” at your window or a sudden scatter of feathers and clumsy oversized legs... Beautiful nonetheless
